Law and Order: Avarice vs. Authoritarianism
In the last few months, there has been much debate about ICE and immigration law enforcement in this country. While there is a lot of high flying emotion and anger on both sides of the debate, it is important to remember first and foremost that we are all of us, human beings; and not deserving of the manner of filth and hatred that is spewing from the mouths and hands of protesters, both in favor and opposition of the enforcement of immigration law. That being said, it is an extremely interesting paradox in which the American Democratic party and liberal followers find themselves with regard to the immigration enforcement.
After all, not too long ago we had Democratic governors, mayors, and civic leaders who ordered people to remain in their homes; and arrested people who dared violate "quarantine".
Leaders who ordered SWAT raids and violated people's homes in order to ensure that there were no more than 10 people at family gatherings.
Police raids on family gatherings to ensure compliance.
National Guardsmen used as police to ensure people did not violate governors' executive orders; and arresting people who dared venture out mask-less or even do something like go to the beach in California.
Passengers on planes ordered to wear masks at all times as they were shoe-horned into their seats; with the threat of expulsion and arrest if they dared remove the mask.
Police locking elderly people inside their retirement homes and forbidding family to visit them.
Hospitals forcibly removing and preventing family from visiting loved ones who were dying.
States and cities banning public events and forcibly dispersing crowds who gathered to protest the draconian measures; unless of course they were rioting over "racism".
Yet: all of these things our liberal friends not only accepted; but actively encouraged in the name of supposed "health and safety", while sharing not one iota of scientific evidence to support their arguments to that effect. However, now that police and federal agencies are being utilized to enforce ACTUAL federal law that has been on the books since President Clinton signed it in 1995; the left screams "FASCISM". While I personally do disagree with a good deal of the actions that ICE is undertaking, and would encourage a different approach; it is worthwhile to note that the same people who were perfectly fine with similar enforcement being perpetrated in the name of "Covid", are now so adamantly opposing this enforcement of valid and actual law.
What you don't see, is our liberal friends championing NEW law to prevent such enforcement from happening. Now ask yourselves, why is that? The reason is simple: they do not wish to change the law to help people, because they know that those laws are what keep them in power and able to control the people in question. They do not have a problem in the world with presumed "authoritarianism" in law enforcement; so long as THEY are the ones in charge, and not 'the other guy'. The left and the right are both happy with the level of enforcement afforded them by law when they are the ones in charge; and neither will ever actively pursue a change of course to change that.
Newsflash for those of you who were unaware: if you are more angry about the law being ENFORCED than that the law EXISTS; then you are the problem, not those enforcing the laws of the land.
So rather than assaulting law enforcement and spreading hatred and wickedness in your anger; do something proactive for a change, and encourage your elected leaders to change laws that you and they claim are unjust. Any other course of action is simply an expression of childish rage, and helps no one; yet harms everyone including yourself.
