The Arch-heretic of 1600 Penn. Avenue Strikes again

 The sitting President of the United States of America made an unscheduled and highly secretive visit to Kyiv, Ukraine this past weekend; to announce that he was allocating an additional half a billion dollars of American Taxpayer money to aid the Ukrainians.  This is NEW spending, on top of the money that was previously agreed upon in the cursed "omnibus" spending package which the congress approved in December.  While there are many who may be truly sympathetic to the plight of innocent Ukrainian citizens in the ongoing war with Russia, it is worthwhile to point out that, for a country not actively engaged in a war ourselves; the United States seems to have quite a few lines in the water there in terms of spending: and by spending, I mean an international hemorrhage of taxpayer money.  The American people have been made to pay dearly for the war in Ukraine; a war for which we have no cause to be involved, and for which we have invested much and received naught but a pompous, overly-dramatic former actor-turned-president who comes to this nation and demands ever increasing amounts of money from us.   

One could almost just role the proverbial eye at what President Biden has done now; where it not for the simple fact that he has avoided and ignored the plight of the citizens of East Palestine, Ohio (and surrounding areas), who have been devastated and horribly impacted by the chemical explosions and contamination following the train derailment which occurred 2 weeks ago.

2 WEEKS....

And the only response from the current administration has been an insensitive interview the failure of a transportation secretary has given: "Oh well there are thousands of such derailments every year".   The federal government has actively REFUSED aid and assistance to the people of Ohio in their hour of need: aid and assistance, I might add, which are supposed to be covered by the money paid into the federal government out of their tax dollars.   But no, instead of using the people of the United States' tax dollars to right a horrific environmental disaster; our President promises to ship it off to the Ukraine to continue their war.  What this president has done is an absolute slap in the face to the tax-paying citizens of the United States; telling them that foreign wars which we are not involved in are more important to our government than whether our own people have clean air and water to drink to sustain life.  

SHAME.

The Commerce of Christ at Christmas?

  In just under a month, Christians will gather in crowded, candlelit churches on Christmas Eve to celebrate the great feast of our Savior's birth.  Recently, some clergy friends of mine have directed me to an interesting little thing that the Episcopal Church's National Cathedral in DC has decided to do for Christmas Eve this year.   Are they going to bring in the homeless so that they have a warm place to sleep that night?  No. Are they going to actually preach the Christ whom they are obliged to by the book of common prayer?  No. Are they going to charge people to attend Christmas Eve Mass and receive Christ?  YES! You heard that correctly, the National Cathedral in Washington, DC; has decided to CHARGE people to attend a worship service on Christmas Eve.  Now some will defend this move as an attempt to control crowd levels or such; but that goes against the very essence of the Christian faith and the nature of cathedrals themselves.  The very reason why we build great churc

Anglicans in the Ambulatory!!!

  This week, a number of Traditionalist Anglican clergy and their Bishop (of Fulham), are on retreat in Rome.  They were invited by the clergy in charge of St. John in Lateran to hold a mass in the "choir" of the cathedral, behind the main altar of the church.  What to many Christians might seem a point of fraternal generosity or a sign of mutual respect; has instead inflamed the passions of a number of Roman Catholic churchmen and laymen across the Christian world.    How dare those silly protestants hold their service in our church???  The claim that is referenced in defending such position, is the old argument that because Pope Leo XIII issued the Papal Bull Apostolicae Curae which claimed Anglican Orders as "utterly null and void"; that this means definitively that Anglican Apostolic succession is indeed null and void.  Unfortunately for my more conservative minded Roman Catholic friends, a Papal Bull is not the law of the church.  There have been many Papal Bul
